Calling all Knitters!

Autumn has definitely arrived!  🍂

Last year we asked for donations of knitted scarves so we could include them in our WICCI Rainbow Care Boxes – Western Isles Cancer Care Initiative (WICCI) We received lots of beautiful donations that have been so well received. Our stocks are running a little low now so we are asking again if anyone has some time to knit/crochet any scarves, hats, socks or blankets we would be very grateful!

Please get in touch if you will be able to help!

Here is a couple of example patterns but any style would be great.

Come work us – WICCI Uist & Barra Coordinatior

We are really excited to open applications for a new member of staff to join our wonderful team here at WICCI.

We are looking for a special someone to work with us over the next few months to develop our presence in Uist & Barra, working alongside existing support groups and organisations.

You will initially be required to work from home until we get a base organised – which will be one of the first tasks for the new coordinator – and then work to develop a permanent base for WICCI in Uist.  This is short term position, funded directly from donations to WICCI, but there is a chance the position could be extended and developed post April 2024.

You will  be required to develop the range of WICCI services in the area, including working with the existing groups and organisations currently working with us and building new relationships with others.

You will work closely with the WICCI Manager, but will also be required to work on your own a lot of the time.

You must have experience in coordinating projects like this and working with others, you must also have your own drivers licence and access to transport and willingness to travel throughout the Islands.

Does this sound like something for you?

If so, get in touch for a chat (01851 706721), have a read of the Job Description and download the Application Form – we look forward to hearing from you!
