We are delighted to be able to offer this service again, thanks to Angela Key from The Relaxation Station and The Harris Hotel.
Angela will be in the Harris Hotel Monday 19th October from 12:30.  She will be offering Foot & Leg or Indian Head Massages.

Led by Carole Millar, this group is all about lifting spirits through song.
5th October in Bethesda Hospice and 26th October in the WICCI Centre.
👩‍🎨 Creative Resin Workshop with Kitty Willow Crafts
During this workshop you will be introduced to using epoxy resin and have the opportunity to make a bookmark and keyring, using a variety of decorations colours and glitters.  Be aware though that this can get messy so either take an apron with you or wear clothes that you don’t mind possibly getting damaged!!!

Wednesday 16th September at WICCI Centre 2pm – 4pm
Continuing from last months workshop Tom will be guiding attendees on how to turn the stitches they learnt into a design using repurposed materials and Harris Tweed threads. This is a 2 hour workshop that will run over a few months.

WICCI Centre Stornoway and online.
This relaxed and friendly group welcomes anyone with a stoma, ileostomy, or urostomy. Join us for a cuppa and cake, share your experiences, or get advice and peer support from others who’ve been through it all. With years of experience, they’ve faced the challenges and are living full, active lives.

Hebridean Harmony are not meeting in July, they will be back to their normal routine in August – 1st Monday of the month in Bethesda Hospice and following Mondays in the WICCI Centre.
✏️Craft Workshop: Fused Glass Workshop
Wednesday 29th July at Harris Glass Studio, Seilibost, at 2pm
We are returning to Harris Glass Studio as it was such a success last year.  Everyone had a lovely time and enjoyed the wee road trip to Harris.  Transport from Stornoway will be provided so if you fancy an afternoon out with a fun activity and beautiful scenery don’t hesitate t0 get in contact.

Join us for an afternoon out at the Blue Pig Studio where Peter will show us how he makes delicious sour dough bread in his outdoor oven, weather permitting!  If weather is not being kind, we will implement Plan B and use the kitchen oven.  Transport will be provided by WICCI.

Improving the Cancer Journey Link Worker 

Improving the Cancer Journey was launched in the Western Isles in January 2025 , based at WICCI, to help support people affected by cancer.  This programme which is funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and the Scottish Government and delivered in Partnership with WICCI and NHS Western Isles, aims to support those who are diagnosed with cancer to navigate that time through the use of a Holistic Needs Assessment tool, which will identify the main issues that they may need support with.

The Link Worker is a valued part of the cancer care team providing essential non clinical care and support to people affected by cancer.

The Link Worker will be a WICCI employee and will be based from the WICCI offices in Stornoway.  The job will be 21 hours per week.

This role is funded until October 2027 with the expectation of further funding after that.

June 2025 Events and Treatments Calendar

Our Ladies Cancer Support Group, for all women going through or recently been through cancer. This month the group will be meeting on Wednesday 18th June 2 – 3.30pm. Come along for a relaxed chat and a cuppa, bring a friend – all welcome.

Our singing for pleasure group – Hebridean Harmony are in Bethesda on Monday 2nd June and in the WICCI centre on Monday 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th June.

Our Stoma Support Group is a group is open to anyone with a Stoma, Ileostomy or Urostomy – not just those affected by cancer. If you are unable to get in to the Stornoway Centre you can join in online.  We are not meeting in June but keep an eye out on our Social Media for us announcing the July date.

WICCI in Harris – Jane Eastwood will be in the Harris Hotel on Wednesday the 11th June offering Indian Head Massage or Leg and Foot Massage or Reiki.

For this month’s workshop, on 27th June, we are going to visit Jane Harlington at Blue Pig Studio, Carloway, where she is hosting a Fabric Painting workshop where you will have an opportunity to design and paint a Tote bag.   No previous experience is needed and all materials will be supplied and WICCI will provide transport.  There are only 6 places available so if you don’t want to miss out on this fun afternoon get in contact to book you space.
